CLEVELAND BALLET COMPANY ARTIST
Julia Tze was born in New York City with Canadian dual citizenship before moving to Ridgewood, New Jersey in her early childhood years. She began her dance training at Ridgewood Performing Arts Center in a variety of styles, including ballet, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, musical theater, tap, and hip hop.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet and a minor in marketing from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and from the University Honors Program in December of 2020. At CCM, she had the opportunity to dance principal roles in multiple programs including Karen Burke of Dayton Ballet’s Cinderella. She also had the honor of participating in a Dance for the Camera study abroad project in collaboration with the Institute of the Arts Barcelona in Sitges, Spain.
She came to Cleveland in the summer of 2019 where she danced as a trainee for two years before being promoted to the company for the 2021-2022 season. While with Cleveland Ballet, she has had the privilege of performing a variety of roles in Carmen, The Nutcracker, The Magic Flute, and Alice. Additionally, she holds the role of Marketing Manager for both Cleveland Ballet and its official school, School of Cleveland Ballet.
